Mary Smithnosky enters her first season as a student manager for the Western Michigan softball program in 2023.

In 2022, Smithnosky appeared in 26 games, starting three, for the Broncos. During a non-conference doubleheader against Green Bay and Bellarmine, she picked up the first two hits and scored the first run of her collegiate career. Smithnosky also came off the bench to record pinch-hit singles in Mid-American Conference victories over Toledo and Kent State.
