Justin Lyons

Justin Lyons joined the WMU strength and conditioning staff as a full-time staff member prior to the 2010-11 school year after serving as a graduate assistant with the Broncos during 2009-10.

A four-year starter in football at the University of Findlay, Lyons earned starts at five different positions (MLB, WLB, SLB, Buck and Defensive End). He was was a CBS Sportsline All-American nominee, a two-time all-conference, all-area and All-Dream Team in high school, receiving honorable mention for all-state and served has team captain for two seasons.

A Jenison, Mich., native, Lyons has worked in the physical fitness arena since August of 2006, designing year-round programs for various NCAA sports teams, including lacrosse, volleyball, basketball and football, even working with the volleyball and soccer teams at the University of Findlay. In his first season as a graduate assistant at Western Michigan, Lyons worked with the Bronco football and golf teams.

Lyons graduated from Findlay in December of 2008 with a degree in strength and conditioning, earning a 3.89 GPA. He is currently pursuing his masters in exercise physiology within the Health, Physical Education & Recreation (HPER) Department at Western Michigan University.
