JACK SHAW INVITE
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, APRIL 29-30, 2022
General Information: This meet is an invitational allowing college, club and unattached athletes. Top 9 to finals in all field events. All races are finals. Running events with multiple heats/sections will be conducted as fast heats/sections first and competing against time.
Facilities: Kanley Track features a 9-lane, 400-meter Olympic model Martin-surface track, the alumni track building (east end) and permanent lights. All field events are inside the oval. Entrance gates sit at the west end of the track in Parking Lot 13. Spikes need to be no longer than ¼”.
Spectators: Free
Entries: $25/athlete or $325 per team per gender. To register go to Direct Athletics. Entries will close April 25th at 8:00 pm (EST). Results will be posted on www.wmubroncos.com
UNATTACHED/ELITE CLUB ATHLETES
(must be elite or associated with a college/university) will be allowed to enter, but must have verified marks/times. Please email Head Coach Makiba Batten (makiba.batten@wmich.edu) with verified marks/times prior to entering on direct athletics. Please include your events and links to your best marks. If unavailable, please send info to support your expected performance. Once verified via email you will be prompted to register at Direct Athletics.
Covid Policies: None at this time.
Implement Weigh-in: All implements can be weighed in at the throws shed (garage door) directly left of the Hammer/Discus cage at least 45min prior to the event start time. Javelins will be impounded and then transported to the runway.
Clerking: Will be done at the alumni track building/press box shed (east end).
Practices/Warm-up: Practices allowed on the track on April 29th any time except during the Hammer competition. Warm up area will include team camp area and designated areas on the track during competition.
Team Camps/Restrooms: Team tents and camping areas are allowed on the bleachers side grass area (south end) inside the facility. No tents are allowed up against the track gate. Please allow a clear path along the gate. Portable restrooms are available inside Kanley Track near team camps.
Parking: Use Lot 13 at the west end of the track to park and enter facility. You can enter Lot 13 off of Michigan Ave or S Ring Rd. See driving directions photo for more details.
Medical/Weather: Sports medicine facilities are located in the Read Fieldhouse (directly across S Ring Rd). A tent will be available at the track for our WMU medical staff. In case of inclement weather, we will move inside Read Fieldhouse Indoor track.

Directions:
From 1-94: Exit at Oakland Drive (Exit #75) and go North. Go through the stoplight at Howard Street and continue one mile until coming to Oliver Street on your left. Turn left onto Oliver and take it to the stoplight on Stadium Drive. Go through the light, over the railroad tracks to the three way stop. Turn right onto S Ring Rd. Make another right into Lot 13. Kanley Track is immediately in front of you. From US-131: Take the Stadium Drive East Exit. Follow signs for Western Michigan University Campus. Turn left on Oliver, which is one light pass the light at Howard Street. Go over the railroad tracks to the three way stop. Turn right onto S Ring Rd. Make another right into Lot 13. Kanley Track is immediately in front of you.
From M-43 North of Kalamazoo: Turn left off M-43 (Gull Road) in Kalamazoo onto Riverview Drive. Go under the railroad overpass and bear right onto Michigan Avenue for 0.4 miles. It then becomes Kalamazoo Avenue. Continue until it becomes Stadium Drive. Make a right onto Michigan Ave (the light at Waldo Stadium). Continue on Michigan Ave, Kanley Track will be on the left. Turn left into Lot 13 from Michigan Ave.
