KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 win over UIC at West Hills Athletic Club on Saturday afternoon.
The Broncos (9-9, 2-2 MAC) quickly took the doubles point.
Ashton Adesoro and
Chen-Hui Ho picked up a 6-1 win over Mihailo Savic and Simon Knezevic at No. 3 to take the early advantage. Shortly after
Tim Riedel and
Drew Evans then secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 1 over Artem Alekseychuk and Victor Dorojan.
Sophomore Dmitri Moriarty gave Western Michigan a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Youssef Hamad at No. 6. Riedel then pushed the lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Eldin Nokic at No. 2.
Oscar Corwin secured the match victory for the Broncos with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Savic. Chen-Hui pushed it to 5-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Dapcevic before
Alex Antonopoulos added WMU's sixth and final point with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Knezevic at No. 3.
Western Michigan heads back on the road next week for a single match at Ball State on Friday at 1 p.m.
