KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches after a 7-0 sweep of Ferris State at West Hills Athletic Club on Friday afternoon.
The two teams battled for the doubles point, with WMU taking the early advantage on a 6-1 win by
Ayana Yaguchi and Lola Glanz at No. 2 over Madleine Peisley and Yara Madi. FSU tied it up with a 6-3 win at No. 1 by Ayva Johnstone and Maria Fernanda Hernandez Ferrer.
Frida Weijerman and
Marielou Baudouin clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 3 over Ainzley Zulueta and Ana Sofia Hernandez Ferrer.

Audrey Smitek quickly pushed the Broncos' lead to 20 with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 over Ana Sofia Hernandez Ferrer. Weijerman then made it 3-0 with a victory at No. 2 over Madi 6-3, 6-3. The match-winning point came courtesy of sophomore
Sienna Osborne at No. 4. She defeated Maria Fernanda Hernandez Ferrer 2-6, 6-0, 6-0. WMU's fifth point was added by freshman
Ayana Yaguchi, with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 over Katherine Earnst. Baudouin made it 6-0 with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 decision against Zulueta at No. 6. The final point came from Glantz, who defeated Peisley 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 1
The Broncos wrap up non-conference play next Friday, hosting Northwood at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
