BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team wrapped up its 2024-25 season with a 5-2 win at Bowling Green on Saturday.
DOUBLES
The Falcons earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Konstantina Adamopoulou and Qianyu Liu gave BGSU the early advantage with a 6-2 win over Friday Weijerman and
Polina Khotko at No. 3. The Broncos countered with a win by
Christine Gouws and Marielou Bauduin, 6-4, at No. 2. Leticia Fonseca and Lucia Gaio clinched the point for Bowling Green with a 6-4 win over
Lola Glantz and
Audrey Smitek.
SINGLES
The Broncos rolled in singles, winning five of the six matches. Wiejerman won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3. Gouws earned a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 of Liu, while Smitek defeated Chaffee 7-5, 7-5 at No. 6. Glantz then earned a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win over Clemens to clinch the match victory for Western Michigan, with Knotko earning the fifth and final pint with a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8) win over Gaio at No. 4.
