BOLOGNIA, Italy -- Western Michigan softball alum Rissa Bajusz has signed with the MIA Office Bologna Blue Girls of the Italian Serie A1 Softball League for the upcoming 2025 season. 

The season opens at the end of March and runs through the middle of July. The league is composed of 10 teams. Last season, the Blue Girls finished in fourth place with a 20-12 record. 

"I am beyond excited to continue playing softball while learning about their culture, gaining new experiences and building relationships that will last," said Bajusz. 

Softball has a long tradition in Italy. The Italian Women's National Team has appeared in 13 Women's Softball World Cups and three Summer Olympic Games in the five times the sport has been fielded. It returns for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
