YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team fell on the road at Eastern Michigan, 5-2, at the Chippewa Club on Friday afternoon.
The Broncos (15-7, 6-3 MAC) dropped the doubles point after dropping matches at No. 2 and No. 1. WMU's pair of
Audrey Smitek and
Ariane Souligny did pick up a win, 6-4, at No. 3 over Sabina Brichackova and Ksyusha Saenko.
Western Michigan's two points came from senior
Karin Hamilton and junior
Polina Khotko. Khotko earned a 7-5, 6-1 win over Linda Eloundou at No. 4, while Hamilton won 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 2 over Andrea Quiroz.
The Broncos wrap up the regular season on Sunday, hosting Miami at 1 p.m. WMU's senior class of
Karin Hamilton,
Valeriya Monko,
Maya Perkucin and
Lindsey Zieglar will be honored prior to the start of the match.
