Rissa Bajusz debuted at number five this week in the latest D1Softball.com Z-contact percentage rankings.
Z-contact measures the percentage of time a hitter makes contact when swinging at a pitch inside the strike zone.
To increase her Z-contact percentage, Bajusz has accumulated 147 strikeouts this season, which ranks 10th in the entire nation. Over her last 23.1 innings pitched, the senior has produced 31 strikeouts en route to posting a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 6.2:1. With her surge in strikeouts, Bajusz has limited opposing teams to 0.69 hits per inning across her latest 23.1 frames.
Bajusz and the rest of the WMU softball team will return to action tomorrow in a Saturday doubleheader at Kent State. Game one will begin at 1:00 PM, while game two will follow at 3:00 PM.
