CLEVELAND – For the second time this season, the Western Michigan men's tennis team has swept the Mid-American Conference weekly awards, with Jackson Boone being named MAC Men's Singles Player of the Week and the pair of Adrian Quiros and Ferdinand Schlueter earning MAC Men's Doubles Team of the Week.
Boone went 2-0 over the weekend to help the Broncos improve their winning streak to seven matches. In the win over DePaul he earned a 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 4 over Shourya Verma. In the win over Navy he defeated Steve Nguyen at No. 3 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Boone is now 7-2 in dual matches this season.
Schlueter and Quiros went 1-0 on the weekend with another match going unfinished. The duo clinched the doubles point in WMU's win over Navy, defeating Jason Kim and Steve Nguyen, 7-5, at No. 3. The pair is now 4-1 together on the season.
The Broncos are off this weekend and open up MAC play on Friday, March 8 hosting Illinois-Chicago and Northern Illinois on Sunday, March 10.
