LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named
Riley Dittmar as an NFCA Top Performer of the Week.
This past week, the junior infielder led the Broncos to a 3-2 record at the UTEP Memorial Tournament after totaling five runs and eight hits with a batting average of .667. Along with her eight hits, Dittmar accumulated a slugging percentage of 1.083 and secured seven walks for an on-base percentage of .789 during the tournament.
Ditmar's best outing of last weekend's tournament occurred on Saturday, February 10, in Western Michigan's 10-0 win against UTEP. In four at-bats Saturday, Dittmar tied teammate
Megan Welsh for a game-high three hits. The junior would also record a game-best five RBI, accounted for one double, and scored one run in the victory.
As of Thursday afternoon, Ditmar ranks amongst the nation's best offensively: She is tied for 14th in the NCAA in batting average (.667), tied for 51st in hits (8), and needs only one RBI (7 currently this season) to enter inside the top 30 in total RBI.
With her selection, Dittmar became the first NFCA Top Performer of the Week in program history.
