Kramer Hits Home Run as WMU Falls at CMU

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Senior Alyssa Kramer registered one of the Broncos' two hits with a solo home run on Sunday morning as Western Michigan softball dropped its Mid-American Conference contest at CMU, 11-2.

Kramer collected one of the Broncos' two hits against the Chippewas including a solo home run over the left field wall in the top of the second. It was Kramer's second home run of the season and the 15th of her career. 
 
Joining Kramer with a lone hit for the Broncos was sophomore Payton Kelly who went 1-for-2. Kelly ripped a single up the middle in the top of the second to get on base just before Kramer homered. 
 
Two pitchers saw the circle for Brown & Gold, registering five strikeouts. Junior Rissa Bajusz threw six innings, allowing eight hits and 10 runs while Autumn Godwin allowed a hit and run each.
 
CMU took an early lead in the first pushing two runs across the plate on three hits. Western Michigan countered with two runs in the top of the second and held the Chippewas scoreless in the next three innings including two retired in order innings. 
 
Central Michigan regained footing in the fifth registering three runs on one hit. The Broncos looked to anti in the sixth but were unable to bring runners home. CMU posted another six runs to take the game, 11-2.
 
The Broncos open up a four-game home stand at Ebert Field starting with a single game against Oakland on Tuesday, April 18 followed by a three-game MAC series with Kent State on April 21-22. The Broncos will open the series on Friday, April 21 with a single game at 3 pm followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, April 22 starting at 1.
