BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Western Michigan softball team completed a Mid-American Conference sweep over Bowling Green with a 4-2 win on Tuesday. The Broncos took both games of Wednesday's doubleheader earning a 7-0 shutout and a 10-1 victory. The complete sweep over the Falcons marks the first MAC series sweep since 2018, last done on March 30-31 at BGSU.

WMU outscored the Falcons 21-3 over the three games, edging the 2018 standings by two runs.
The midweek results improved Western Michigan's overall record to 9-12, with a 3-0 mark in conference play. The 10 runs scored by the Broncos Wednesday tied as the second most by the team this season. It was the third time this season WMU has produced double-digit runs.
Western Michigan 7, Bowling Green 0
WMU tallied 12 hits while the Falcons conceded three errors en route to the Broncos prevailing 7-0.
Alyssa Kramer went a perfect 4-for-4 and tied a career-high four hits and a season-high two runs batted in at the plate, notching two singles in her first two plate appearances. Kramer recorded an RBI and run.
Cassidy Brendtke provided solid at-bats for WMU, going 3-for-4 at the plate and scoring two of the seven runs of the contest.

Riley Chumbley combined for a total of five hits with Hudson and Smith scoring for the Broncos. Also adding runs were
Jessica Young and
Natalie Shuey.
In the pitcher's circle,
Rissa Bajusz tossed 6.1 scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts to improve her record to 4-4.
Western Michigan scored on a Kramer single and Bowling Green error to get the scoring started in the third. Shortly after, Brendtke hit a double followed by another BGSU miscue to add the second of the contest.
The Falcons held WMU scoreless across the fifth but could not maintain the defense in the sixth. Western Michigan added five runs in the sixth to seal the victory when Chumbley struck a two-run single and Hudson doubled down the line for a 5-0 lead.
WMU added its last two runs of game one on an RBI single by Kramer and a
Payton Kelly sac fly.
Western Michigan 10, Bowling Green 1
WMU reeled in 10 runs, just shy of its season-high to defeat the Falcons to conclude the series. Hudson, Kelly, and Kramer led the Broncos in game two. Hudson went 2-for-3 batting in three runs, while Kelly went 1-for-3 and Kramer, 1-for-4 to each bat in two runners. Wolfe recorded two runs batted in with her one plate appearance and also crossed the plate twice for WMU.
Bajusz went the distance for Western Michigan pitching a complete game for a total of five innings. She held the Falcons to four scoreless innings and allowed just two hits, an unearned and earned run each. Bajusz added three strikeouts to make 62 strikeouts on the season and improve her record to 5-4.
Western Michigan earned an early run with a leadoff triple by
Taylor Wolfe and a walk to put WMU in scoring position. Next at bat, Hudson followed suit crossing the plate for a 2-0 lead in the third.
The Broncos kept the rally going in the fourth and extended their lead to 4-0, adding two more runs on a sac fly and RBI single. Despite a gradual start, the Broncos hit the ground running in the fifth scoring six runs to claim a 10-1 victory over Bowling Green and complete the series sweep.
