Freshman Riley Chumbley hit a single in the top of the fifth inning to put a runner on base for WMU. With Haleigh Smith pinch-running and Payton Kelly up to bat, Kelly, notched a single into right field to advance Smith to third base. Kelly then advanced to second on a throw. With runners on second and third, a wild pitch by UNLV resulted in a run for Smith while Kelly was caught stealing home.

Top of the sixth was a quick one, two, three outing for UNLV with zero runs and hits. The Broncos would add their second run of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Addison followed up a single by Alyssa Kramer with a sacrifice bunt to advance Kramer to second. Courtney Farrish crafted a double to left center to allow Kramer a run. WMU ended the inning with one run scored and three hits with one player left on base.

Rain washed out the second half of games at the Frost Classic on Friday afternoon. Western Michigan, who was scheduled to play its second tilt of the day at 12:30 pm against Eastern Illinois, will instead take on SEMO for a 10 am restart on Saturday. WMU follows up the morning with a 12:30 pm game against the Tigers of Memphis.
