SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team produced a strong showing at Notre Dame's Bobby Bayliss Invitational over the weekend, posting two wins in doubles play and 10 in singles.

DOUBLES RECAP
The freshmen team of Ashton Adesoro and Matej Kajzer picked up WMU's lone win in the first round of doubles action. The duo defeated Indiana's Andrew Meier and Deacon Thomas 6-4. In round two it was senior Ben George and freshman Drew Evans that defeated Purdue's Henrik Villanger and Xander Ekstrand, 6-0.

SINGLES RECAP
In the opening round of singles on Friday, the Broncos picked up wins from Dimitri Moriarty, Evans and Kajzer. Moriarty defeated IU's Meier in two sets, 6-4, 6-1. Kazjer also had a two-set win, beating DePaul's Jona Gitschel, 6-2, 6-2. Evans needed the super tie-breaker to pick up his win against Vanderbitl's Oscar Jenson. He dropped the first set 6-0 before winning the second 6-1 and then won 10-8 in the tie-breaker.

In round two it was Alvin Altman, Ferdinand Schlueter and Kazjer picking up wins. Altman defeated Meier in three sets 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8). Schlueter picked up his won over Drake's Will Ecklund 6-2, 6-1, while Kajzer picked up his second win of the weekend, this time over Will Blevins 6-1, 6-4.  

Round three featured wins by Kazjer, Adesoro, Moriarty and Altman. Kazjer improved to 3-0 after beating Vanderbilt's Mitchell Deames 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7). Adesoro defeated Villanger 6-3, 6-3, while Altman capped off the round with a 6-4, 7-6 (10-6), win over DePaul's Jona Gitschel.

Evans was the lone Bronco to earn a win in the fourth round, beating Gitschel 6-4, 6-0.
