KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Six different Broncos finished the weekend 3-0 in singles play as the Western Michigan men's tennis team wrapped up the 2022 Vredevelt Invitational on Sunday at West Hills Athletic Club.
Peter Kuszynski, Ben George,
Fynn Lohse,
Jackson Boone,
Arjun Honnappa and
Ferdinand Schlueter each won on the day in singles after finishing 2-0 yesterday. They were named to the All-Tournament Team along with Butler's Aidan William. Kuszynski was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
The Broncos opened Sunday's play going 2-2 in doubles. Kuszynski and Boone defeated Mindry and Teichmann from Cleveland State in a 7-6 thriller, while Lohse and
Brogan Pierce defeated Karr and William from Butler. In the third round of doubles, the Broncos went 2-1 with wins by Schlueter and George over Seagraves and Nguyen from Navy, 6-4, and Arzhankin and Honnappa over Staiger and Chappell, 7-5, from Cleveland State.
Western Michigan returns to action on Friday for the Drobec Invitational at Michigan State, also competing Saturday and Sunday.
