WMU Athletics Announces Partnership with INFLCR

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Western Michigan University is pleased to announce its partnership with INFLCR and the INFLCR+ Local Exchange program, a service that will complement the department's new NIL program with resources in assisting Western Michigan student-athletes to leverage their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

"From my first week on the job, it was clear to me that we needed to seek out a variety of new resources, policies and procedures to provide our student-athletes the appropriate support in the NIL space," said WMU Director of Athletics Dan Bartholomae. "INFLCR stood out as a product that is setting a high standard in providing brand building and digital content resources to student-athletes across the country. I am particularly excited about their local business exchange platform, which will provide a seamless connection between our student-athletes' digital profiles and the many great regional businesses and non-profit organizations in Southwest Michigan. We look forward to presenting these and a more complete menu of other new resources to our athletic programs in the very near future."

The Bronco Exchange will be a home for both local and national businesses to connect and engage with Bronco student-athletes for NIL opportunities. This is a free service for student-athletes and the businesses who use it. After a business registers on the exchange, they will have access to a searchable database of student-athletes, and filter that database through a variety of criteria. They will have the ability to message the student-athlete directly in the application or request contact information to begin discussions about any potential NIL transaction.

"This partnership will greatly expand WMU student-athletes' NIL capabilities when it comes to finding & contracting with businesses," INFLCR Founder Jim Cavale said. "Not only will it be easier for businesses to reach student-athletes, but new features coming to INFLCR will allow student-athletes to promote the Bronco Exchange platform directly on their social media or other platforms."

By adding this resource, Western Michigan student-athletes will be able to create business connections, streamline payments and reporting processes, consolidate tax information and create appropriate separation between the University and each student-athlete's pursuit of NIL opportunities, all within the INFLCR app. The Bronco Exchange will also provide student-athletes with education on NIL issues, while also tracking social media engagement and growth.
