CLEVELAND – Western Michigan junior
Peter Kuszynski has been named Mid-American Conference Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week after his performance in WMU's wins over Binghamton and Buffalo last weekend.
In Friday's win against the Bearcats he defeated Dan Pergel at No. 2 6-3, 6-2 to help the Broncos win 7-0 on the day. In Sunday's 6-1 win over Buffalo he won again at No. 2, defeating Matthew Johnson 6-3, 6-4. The Markham, Ontario, native is a perfect 4-0 in singles in MAC play so far this season with all the wins coming at No. 2.
This is the third time a Bronco has earned MAC Singles Player of the Week this season.
Western Michigan is off this weekend but returns to action next Friday at Northern Illinois before hosting Butler on Saturday at 3 p.m.
