CLEVELAND - Jannik Opitz and Kennosuke Nouchi have been named the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week for men's tennis, as announced on Wednesday. This marks the third time that they have earned this accolade together during the 2020 campaign. 

Opitz and Nouchi shut out Anthony Pero and John Carlin from Big Ten opponent Michigan State 6-0 in No. 1 doubles on Friday. With the victory, they improved to 5-3 as a team during the dual season. 

It is the sixth time that they have received MAC Doubles Team of the Week honors as a pair. Jannik has now earned this award ten total times with four different partners, while Kennosuke has achieved it eight times during his career between two partners.

Western Michigan will host Ferris State on Tuesday, February 18 at 3 p.m.
