KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Western Michigan men's tennis head coach Dave Morin released his squad's 2019 fall competition schedule on Thursday.

The Broncos will start their fall slate this weekend at the River Forest Invite in Illinois. Western Michigan will be competing against student-athletes from Northern Illinois, Illinois Chicago, Green Bay, St. Louis, Valparaiso, Illinois State and Youngstown State. Play will consist of six flights of singles and three flights of doubles with individual scoring and no team scores kept.

"The River Forest Collegiate Invite is one of the few clay court events held throughout the country," said Morin. "John Griffin and his staff make this a memorable event for our guys. We're excited to start the competitive fall season and see our players in action."

The Broncos will head to the Notre Dame Bobby Bayliss Invite in South Bend, Ind., for the third straight year next weekend. Western Michigan will then send select individuals to participate in its next four events, including the WMU Vredevelt Invite at the Sorensen Courts in Kalamazoo from October 4-6. The Broncos will conclude their fall schedule by hosting the MAC Invite November 8-10.

The Broncos are the defending MAC regular season and tournament champions and return two all-conference selections in senior Jannik Opitz and sophomore Peter Kuszynski. Opitz went 25-7 in singles play last season and is the reigning MAC Player of the Year, while Kuszynski earned MAC Newcomer of the Year accolades. Western Michigan returns two more who saw action in the 2019 MAC Men's Tennis Championship in senior Kennosuke Nouchi and sophomore Jack Randall
