KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan men's tennis team wrapped up non-conference play Sunday, March 31 inside West Hills Athletic Club, falling 4-2 versus the University of Dayton prior to winning 4-1 against the University of Indianapolis.Â
The loss to the Flyers snapped the Broncos' five-match winning streak while the win over the Greyhounds improved WMU's record to 14-8 overall on the season.Â
WMU opened the day claiming the doubles point with wins on courts one and three versus Dayton. The duo of German seniors Kris Knof and Lenhard Haupt combined for the first time this season and won 6-1 at court three prior to Opitz and Nouchi winning 6-4 and the No. 1 spot to give WMU the 1-0 advantage.
The Broncos opened singles play with a win from Nouchi at court five, but the Flyers answered with three-straight wins to take a 3-2 lead.
Haupt and Kuszynski were both in third sets at courts one and two with the deciding point(s) on the line. Dayton's Jordan Benjamin defeated Haupt 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 to earn the match-clinching fourth point.

The Broncos swept doubles to take a 1-0 lead and won at courts one, four, and five to clinch the win. Kennosuke Nouchi won 7-6 (2), 6-2 to give the Brown & Gold the 4-1 victory with his seventh consecutive singles triumph.Â
