AKRON, Ohio - Western Michigan softball's series finale at the University of Akron was canceled after one inning of play Saturday afternoon due to rainfall, a saturated Lee R. Jackson Field, and poor conditions in the forecast. A makeup date will not be scheduled. Â
WMU won the first two games of the series on Friday, winning 4-3 and 18-10 to open Mid-American Conference play 2-0. The Broncos return to action on Tuesday, April 2 for another MAC road matchup at in-state rival Central Michigan. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
