COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Western Michigan men's tennis opened competition at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a 4-1 setback at No. 9-ranked Texas A&M University on Saturday, Jan. 26, dropping its record to 2-2 overall on the season.Â
Despite the Broncos' No. 2 doubles pair of
Jannik Opitz and
Lenhard Haupt earning a 6-4 victory, improving their record to 10-3 overall, WMU lost at No. 1 and No. 3 as the Aggies secured the doubles point.Â
Down 2-0,
Peter Kuszynski defeated Noah Schachter 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 4 singles spot to get Western Michigan on the board, down 2-1. However, Texas A&M secured the victory with singles wins at No. 2 and No. 5.Â
