After originally opening in 1998 and named after Willard A. (Bill) Brown, a 1953 graduate and outstanding football player, the Bill Brown Alumni Football Center has undergone a tremendous renovation in the last three years.

The center has seen multiple facility upgrades and renovations. These upgrades were part of a $3.4 million dollar renovation project. The first floor locker room underwent renovations that brought in new flooring, wall graphics, three flat screen TV’s, as well as state of the art lockers.

Inside of the weight room you will find a 10-yard wide x 60-yard long strip of Fieldturf. New weights equipment along with new wall graphics and a large countdown clock were installed alongside a state of the art sound system installed within the weight room. Outside of the weight room, walls have been painted from the old off-white color to the school colors of brown and gold, including a mural. The team meeting room has new theatre style leather padded seating, and the walls now are murals of past players and also an over the top view of Waldo Stadium.

On the second floor, wall graphics have been installed that run the length of the building, these graphics represent the history of WMU football. The coach’s locker room and players’ lounge have been improved, and new room was created for NFL scouts. In the Atrium of the second floor there was a 80 inch interactive wall display installed that not only has historical events from WMU football history but also includes the current roster. The lobby renovations came at a price tag of $432,000. Improvements were also made in the coaches meeting room, which cost $66,000. All other general upgrades cost $263,000.

In the summer of 2016, the coaches offices, which also serve as suites were renovated. The renovations cost $500,000 and provide the coaches, student-athletes and game day guests an experience that is tops among any in the country.

From I-94: At exit #74, turn north onto US-131, go 2.7 miles; use the following directions for exiting from US-131
From US-131: At exit #36, turn east onto Stadium Drive, follow Stadium Drive 2.5 miles all the way down until you see the Bill Brown Alumni Football Center on your right.
From M-43 North of Kalamazoo: Turn left off M-43 (Gull Road) in Kalamazoo on to Riverview Drive; go under the railroad overpass and bear right onto Michigan Avenue for 0.4 miles; it then becomes Kalamazoo Avenue. Continue until it becomes Stadium Drive. Bill Brown Alumni Football Center will be on your left.
