BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Western Michigan's Anna Wilcoxson finished runner up at the IU Invitational on Sunday at the Indiana University Golf Course. The Broncos finished in third place and had three golfers in the top 15.

Wilcoxson finished with a final round of 74 (+2) and finished the tournament at even par with a three-round score of 216. The senior was strong on the par fours in the tournament, ranking tied for first in par four scoring at +2. She was also tied for third in par three scoring at even par and tied for fifth in par five scoring with -2. Wilcoxson also tallied 37 pars and nine birdies.

"I'm happy for Anna with an individual runner-up finish," said head coach Elise Swartout-Mosher. "We played fair today, just didn't finish the way we know we can. There are a lot of positives to take away from this tournament and we are looking forward to a good 10 days of practice ahead of the Mid-American Conference Championship."

WMU was sitting in second place heading into the final round. The Broncos finished the day with a combined score of 901 (+37), dropping them to third place by two strokes behind Toledo. The Hoosiers defended their home course with a three-round total of 884 (+20).

Freshman Jasmine Chee continued her steady ways, finishing tied for fifth with a three-round total of 224 (+8). Chee finished the final round with her best of the weekend, shooting a 74. Senior Kaitlyn Watkins finished tied for 11th and just two strokes back of Chee with a 224. Watkins finished the weekend tied for third in birdies with 10. Junior Julia Champion finished in 26th after a final round of 78 put her at 235. Sophomore Claire Hernandez finished the day with her second-straight round of 80 and finished with a total of 241.

Up next for the Broncos is the MAC Championship, April 21-23 in Silver Lake, Ohio.
