Softball Drops Close Game Against Fairfield, 2-0

CLEARWATER, Fla.- The Western Michigan softball team dropped a close game, 2-0 to Fairfield (4-5) Tuesday afternoon. The Broncos (6-9) recorded three hits and one walk. Anissa Sanchez (0-2) took the loss throwing  6.2 innings allowing seven hits and two runs. 

Melissa Palmer doubled down the right field line in the fourth inning but the Broncos were unable to get on the board. Palmer is batting .353 during the Florida trip, walked three times, stolen two bases and has not struck-out.  

Fairfield's two runs came in the first and seventh innings, both with two outs in the inning. The Broncos defense and pitching forced the Stags to leave eight runners on base.  

The Broncos will face Maine tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. ET at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida.
