Box Score 2 LAS CRUCES, N.M.- The Western Michigan softball team came up short against a pair of tough opponents Saturday at the Troy Cox Classic in New Mexico, falling to Creighton, 6-1, and No. 14 Oklahoma, 12-0.
Junior left fielder
Ivy Schaaf accounted for the Broncos' only run of the day, hitting her first home run of the season, a solo home run in the first inning against Creighton.
Junior third baseman Kelsea Chichocki had two hits in each game, batting 4-for-5 on the day with three singles and a double. The Broncos totaled six hits against Creighton and had five against Oklahoma.

Melissa Palmer and sophomore center fielder
Aspen Williams each had two hits against Creighton. Sophomore pitcher
Anissa Sanchez and freshman catcher
Courtney Sleeman both doubled against No. 14 Oklahoma. Senior shortstop
Sabrina Gamboa also singled.
Junior first baseman Jen Daro slugged a pair of three-run home runs for Creighton in the Bluejay's 6-1 victory. Oklahoma jumped on WMU with eight runs in the first and closed out the 12-0 win after five innings.
