KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Fans packed Waldo Stadium during Wednesday's practice, as it was fan appreciation night for the Broncos. Not only were the fans able to watch the Broncos practice and after they were invited to come onto the field and interact with the players and coaches.

"It's just fun," said head coach Bill Cubit. "I was so surprised on how many people showed up."

The fans who were in attendance were treated to a great practice as both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball looked excited to know that they were playing in front of their fans for the first time. That is why this event is important for both the fans and the players.

"We like to have the opportunity for fans to come out and see the players before the season starts," said Elaine Russell, director of sports marketing.

During the so-called dog days of the fall football camp, the break and opportunity to relax after practice and hang out with the fans is something that not only the players but the coaches relish.

"It's uplifting for our football team," Cubit said. "It's nice to go out there and practice in front of our fans at night."

As for the practice itself, the offense side of the ball put on a show that they hope to put on for all the Bronco fans that show up at Waldo this year. During 7-on-7 and team drills, the passing attack from quarterback Alex Carder looked extremely potent, which made the mood even better after practice.

"I think the players enjoy this night," Russell said. "They want the fans to fill the stadium and they want Waldo rocking every weekend."

With this event, surely Broncos fans have more excitement than they ever did before about the upcoming season.
