Western Michigan takes its first Mid-American Conference road trip this weekend, traveling to Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan.

LAST GAME RECAP
Western Michigan completed a two-game non-conference sweep of Oakland on April 3, defeating the Golden Grizzlies, 6-2 and 1-0.  With the two victories, head coach Kathy Leitke became only the second WMU softball coach to win 100 home games and surpassed Fran Ebert for second on the career wins list.  Diana Patterson lifted her third home run of the season to help WMU to the first win of the day after Oakland opened a 1-0 lead in the fourth.  Gracie Barstad's sac fly in game two was the difference in game two.

Kathy Leitke is now one of two WMU softball coaches with 100 home wins ... Leitke ranks second in total wins at WMU with 271 ... WMU reached 900 program wins with its series sweep of Miami this past weekend ... WMU is 12-2 over its last 14 games after starting the season 1-5 ... Meredith Whitney is just 13 strikeouts from becoming WMU's career leader ... Whitney hit her 16th career home run this past weekend, which ranks second all-time at WMU ... Tara Buchanan hit her 11th career home run, tying Amanda Heckaman for fourth on the career list ... freshman pitcher Becca Shemberger made her first career home start against Miami (4/1) and freshman Mackenzie Shepeck earned first career MAC and home win in the same game ... WMU boasts a 13-game home win streak dating back to April 2, 2011 ... Shepeck earned two saves against Oakland, working 4.0 innings over the two games ... WMU split the regular season series with both CMU and EMU in 2011 ... the Broncos and Chippewas met in the 2011 MAC Tournament with WMU coming away with a 9-0 win in five innings to advance to the championship series against Ohio.
