• Won Michigan Intercollegiate tennis doubles in 1925
• Served Kalamazoo Public School system (1926-61) as a coach and athletic director.
• Football coach at Central High School (1939-52) and guided Maroon Giants to 72-49-1 record. Had winning records in each of last 10 years, including undefeated season in 1949.
• Became athletic director in 1948. After he gave up football coaching, he continued to coach golf and reserve basketball and directed junior high school athletic programs.
