"The doubles point was big again today and we had our chances to it," commented WMU head coach Ryan Tomlinson. "If we would have won that the momentum swings in our favor. Credit to Buffalo though because they took it to us in singles at the bottom of the lineup. Our top three continue to compete and keep us in matches."

The Broncos dropped a tight doubles point to begin the afternoon. The duo of Melina Lyubomirova and Valentina Sanchez Briend defeated Buffalo's Abibula/Aldrey 6-4 at No. 3 after UB won at the second doubles. With a 3-0 lead, Barbare Eristavi and Gabriela Slavova the Bulls erased the deficit to win 7-5 and clinch the point at one.

From there, the Bulls won five of their six matches in singles action to remain the only unbeaten team in the MAC. After WMU dropped matches at five, six and four in that order, the Broncos battled in the top half of the lineup with each matchup going into a 10-point match tiebreak. The lone victory came from Lyubomirova at No. 2 as the junior defeated Tanja Stojanovska 1-6, 6-0, 1-0 (6) to improve her winning streak to seven. Junior Denise Azcui dropped a close one at three with a final of 3-6, 6-0, 1-0 (6) while Eristavi dropped her contest at one.

Western Michigan continues its road stretch next weekend with a match at the reigning MAC regular season champions Ball State on Friday, April 13 before concluding its extensive road trip at Toledo on Sunday, April 15.
