Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan heads into the weekend with an overall record of 11-14 and 1-5 in MAC play. At home last weekend, the Broncos dropped three straight to MAC preseason favorite Kent State.

Western Michigan has won its first MAC road series seven years in a row and has compiled an overall record of 16-3.

Senior LHP
Jacob Piechota leads the Broncos with 41 strikeouts this season. With 41 K's, Piechota ranks fifth in the MAC. For his career the Batavia, Ill., native has registered 145 strikeouts.
Quick Starts
This season the Broncos have been dominant in the first two innings, outscoring their opponents, 34-17. In just the second inning, WMU has outscored its opponents, 14-4.
Grand Marshall

Cooper Marshall had a stellar weekend against Kent State, registering a .455 batting average in the three-game series. Marshall went 5-for-13 with three runs scored, one home run and six RBIs.

Nate Grys provides the power at the plate for the Broncos leading the team in doubles (8), home runs (2), RBIs (17) and slugging percentage (.552).
Looking Ahead
Following the weekend series against the Huskies, WMU begins a season long nine-game homestand beginning on Wednesday, April 11 against Goshen College.
Scouting Northern Illinois
Northern Illinois heads into the three-game series with an overall record of 8-18 and is 2-4 in MAC play. On the road last weekend NIU dropped two of three to Ohio as the Huskie were outscored 23-11.
NIU is led offensively by Brad Wood who heads into the series with a .295 batting average in 26 games. Wood leads the NIU offense in runs (17) and RBIs (14).
