Future Bronco Drew Worrad Named MJHL Playoff MVP

STEINBACH, Manitoba – Western Michigan hockey signee Drew Worrad has been named the Most Valuable Player of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League playoffs for helping the Steinbach Pistons to a Turnbull Cup.

Worrad, a 6-foot-1, 178-pound forward, totaled 18 points on six goals and 12 assists in 16 playoff games for the Pistons. He scored three goals and three assists in six games as Steinbach defeated the Virden Oil Capitals, 4-2, in the series.

The Birr, Ontario, native finished second on his team in scoring and sixth in the league in just his first season in the MJHL. Worrad netted 26 goals and tallied 49 assists for 75 points in just 47 games. His 1.60 points per game led the MJHL.

Worrad signed officially with the Broncos during the April signing period.
