KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team will finish out its regular season with an away match away on Saturday, April 22 at Toledo with a start time of 2 p.m.

The Broncos, who are riding an eight-match winning streak, clinched a share of the regular season Mid-American Conference Championship last weekend with victories over Binghamton and Buffalo. This is the Brown and Gold's ninth MAC regular season title in the Dave Morin era and the 24th in school history. WMU is locked into the top spot in the MAC Tournament, which is hosted by Buffalo and will take place on April 27 & 28.
Western Michigan enters its last regular season match at 19-4 overall and 6-0 in the MAC while the Rockets enter at 3-15 overall and 0-5 in the MAC.
Five players have hit the 20-win plateau for the Broncos, junior Matej Svjeticic has the most wins with 28 followed by the duo of sophomore Jannik Opitz and senior Maik Steiner with 27. Junior Lenhard Haupt has tallied 24 wins and junior Eric Olivarez rounds out the list with 21 wins on the year.
In doubles, two Bronco duos have reached double digit wins this year. The pair of Olivarez and junior Nick Schnobel have recorded an overall record of 17-7 while sophomore Kennosuke Nouchi and Opitz have an overall record of 11-5.
Concluding Saturday, the Broncos begin to prepare for the conference tournament in Buffalo on Friday, April 27 with the semifinals and Saturday, April 28 with the championship.
