KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan softball team (22-18) hosts a home series with Toledo starting on Friday, April 20 with first pitch scheduled at 3:00 P.M. The doubleheader on Saturday, April 21 will be a part of the annual StrikeOut Cancer games.
Admission to all home softball games is free.

2018 STRIKEOUT CANCER GAMES
The annual StrikeOut Cancer games will be held on April 21 vs. Toledo, with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. WMU Softball will collect donations during the doubleheader and special uniforms will be auctioned off to raise money in an effort to support Bronson Children's Hospital. All proceeds will be go to Bronson Children's Hospital.
MACTION
The Brown & Gold improved its Mid-American Conference record to 9-6 after taking two out of three from Ball State this past weekend. WMU is now in third in the MAC West Division behind Toledo (12-2) and Ball State (8-5).
AT THE PLATE
WMU is hitting .292 as a team and has racked up 33 home runs. Freshman outfielder
Samantha Coffel leads the Broncos with a .375 batting average. Coffel has the most RBIs (31), triples (1) and doubles (13) on the team. Senior outfielder

IN THE CIRCLE
The Broncos pitching staff has a 3.73 ERA and have recorded 13 complete games with three shutouts. Four Bronco pitchers have tallied more than 35 innings pitched this season. Junior
Jordan Kurth was named MAC West Pitcher of the Week racking up two wins last weekend. Kurth struck out a combined 13 Cardinals batters and held Ball State to a .160 batting average over 14.0 innings pitched, throwing complete seven-inning contests in games one and three of the series.
SCOUTING TOLEDO
Toledo is 28-14 on the season and is in first place in the MAC West with a 12-2 mark. As a team the Rockets are hitting .267 and have a 2.70 team ERA. Bailey Curry leads Toledo with a .373 batting average with 41 RBIs, 12 home runs and 50 hits. Heather Webb and Kailey Minarchick both have more than 10 wins on the year. Webb leads the team with a 2.35 ERA with 82 strikeouts and six complete games.
ALL-TIME SERIES
WMU trails in the all-time series with Toledo 50-53, however the Broncos are 29-24 when they play the Rockets at home.
ON DECK
The Broncos will be on the road for their next series against Northern Illinois. The series will begin on Friday, April 27 at 4:00 P.M. and conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 28 starting at 2:00 P.M.

Alumni Day ceremonies will be held between Game 1 and Game 2 of the home doubleheader vs. Eastern Michigan on May 5. Game 1 begins at 1 p.m.
