Jordan Kurth was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week after leading the Broncos to a series win at Ball State this past weekend.
Kurth was the winning pitcher in each of the Broncos' two victories at Ball State, helping WMU take the road MAC series, two games to one. She struck out a combined 13 Cardinals batters and held Ball State to a .160 batting average over 14.0 innings pitched, throwing complete seven-inning contests in games one and three of the series. She scattered eight hits and allowed just five earned runs for a 2.50 ERA.
With the two victories this past week, she improved her overall record to 9-3 on the season. Kurth started the season 1-3 in the pitcher's circle but has since picked up eight wins without a loss, as well as one save since March 4th.
This is the second time this season Kurth has been named MAC West Pitcher of the Week, also earning the honor on March 13 after going 2-0 with a save over three games in Florida.
