KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team and third year head coach
Ryan Tomlinson announced the signing of five future Broncos to National Letters of Intent on Monday afternoon, including Katilyn Rogosch, Taylor Smith, Kristina Tiraspolsky, Femke Tjon-A-Joe and Elizabeth Trupp.

"I couldn't be happier with this class of incoming Broncos," commented Tomlinson "This is the biggest class since 2013 and biggest team in at least 20 years. They are all going to be instant contributors to the program and already bleed the Bronco spirit. All four of these players have been very successful on the court and in the classroom and will bring a blue collar work ethic and great energy to the program. I can't wait for them to get to campus and get to work."
Kaitlyn Rogosch – Westland, Mich. (Churchill High School)
Rogosch, the number-six recruit in the state of Michigan for 2018, is a three star player on the Tennis Recruiting Network. She has been named the Churchill High School team MVP for three years and was All-Region and All-State three times. The Westland, Mich. native is also a three-time high school Regional Singles Champion.
Taylor Smith – Jackson, Mich. (Lumen Christi Catholic High School)
Smith, a Jackson, Mich. native, brings a wealth of athleticism and leadership to the Bronco roster. The No. 8 recruit in Michigan for the 2018 class played both tennis and basketball at Lumen Christi Catholic High School. In 2017, Smith was the No. 1 Singles State Champion and is a three-star recruit according to the Tennis Recruiting Network. She was named three times to the Michigan Tennis All-State Team all while being a captain twice for her tennis team. In basketball, Smith has served as a captain for three years and was named Team MVP twice. Smith does it in the classroom as well as she has been named both Academic All-State and All-Conference three times during her high school career.
Kristina Tiraspolsky – Toronto, Ontario (City Academy)
The Canadian is currently ranked 34th in the Open Singles National Rankings and had a career-high combined ITF ranking of 1004. The Honor Roll student reached the semifinals of the Gus Morhart Open WS1000 and the ITF quarterfinals singles of the 2017 Goombay Splash Bowl, falling in the third set tiebreaker to career-high 163 ITF player and doubles finalist. Tiraspolsky won the Newmarket Open WS350 and appeared in the finals of the 2017 Singles Roman Cup U18. She also currently holds a 9.45 UTR.
Femke Tjon-A-Joe – Corpus Christi, Texas (Flour Bluff High School)
The four-star recruit on the Tennis Recruiting Network holds a 9.41 UTR and was a three-time Regional finalist. Tjon-A-Joe is also a four-time District 30-5A Girls Singles Champion along with a three-time District 30-5A MVP. The Corpus Chirsti, Texas native was also a state semifinalist and a two-time quarterfinalist.
Elizabeth Trupp – Overland Park, Kan. (Blue Valley Northwest High School)
The senior captain is the No. 4 recruit in the 2018 state of Kansas class and No. 16 in the plains according to the Tennis Recruiting Network. Trupp led her team to two third place finishes, Blue Valley Northwest's highest finishes in ten years and is ranked among the top-30 in the Missouri Valley according to USTA. She has placed in the top-12 in the Kansas High School State Tournament for the last three years and finished sixth place during her sophomore campaign. Trupp is also a member of the Blue Valley Northwest High School Student Leadership Committee.
