After dropping the doubles point, Western Michigan earned singles wins at four and two to hold a 2-1 advantage. Freshman Jeryn Jack got things started first, earning a tough 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win over Toledo's Koko Chishaki. Junior Melina Lyubomirova picked up her ninth consecutive victory after defeating Sidnay Huck in three sets at No. 2.

The Rockets would add a point on the scoreboard, evening the match at two apiece, with a win at three before redshirt senior Barbare Eristavi won her seventh match of the spring season at No. 1 after another three-set victory for the Broncos. Toledo would respond with wins at six and five, in that order, to seal the victory and hand the Broncos its fourth straight loss.

Western Michigan looks to bounce back next weekend with its final two regular season MAC matches at home on Friday, April 20 against Miami and Sunday, April 22 against Bowling Green. Sunday's contest will also be Senior Day as the Broncos will honor Eristavi prior to the match.
