The Broncos lost the doubles points to begin the match as the Cardinals defeated WMU at No. 2 and No. 3, in that order. Western Michigan's top half in singles came to play once again as
Denise Azcui,
Melina Lyubomirova and
Barbare Eristavi all won in straight sets to put the Broncos in front 3-2 after WMU dropped the first singles match at six.
With her win at the two position, Lyubomirova is now riding an eight-match winning streak and is 8-2 overall in that spot and 14-6 this spring.
Ball State rolled from there, winning at five and four to clinch the match, handing the Brown & Gold its third consecutive loss on the road.
Western Michigan is back in action this Sunday, April 15 at Toledo. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN3.
