MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.- The Western Michigan softball team split a twinbill at Central Michigan on Wednesday, dropping game one 6-2 and bouncing back with a 4-1 victory in game two. The defeat snapped a nine-game winning streak for Central Michigan.
Western Michigan's record now stands at 20-17 on the season and 7-5 in the Mid-American Conference. CMU is 18-16 overall and 8-4 in the MAC.
Each year Western Michigan and Central Michigan split the annual three-game Mid-American Conference series between Kalamazoo and Mount Pleasant. The Broncos were originally scheduled to host the doubleheader this year on April 3, but bad weather only allowed for one game to be played in Kalamazoo. With the doubleheader being forced to be played in Mount Pleasant, WMU was still designated as the "home" team in game one of the doubleheader. Central Michigan took the second at bat in game two of the doubleheader.
