CLEVELAND, Ohio. - The Western Michigan gymnastics team had eight student-athletes named to the Academic All-MAC team Tuesday morning. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Bronco squad has had six or more gymnasts honored to the team.

Making the team were Rachel Binkley, Taylor Buis, Kelsey Hood, Kira Hoy, Katie Jennings, Jessica Juncaj, Amelia Mohler and Rachael Underwood. Binkley, Hood, Jennings, Juncaj and Underwood are repeat honorees. 
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. 

A total of 60 student-athletes were named to the team from this past season. Kent State led all schools with 10 student-athletes while Ball State, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan all named nine athletes to the squad.
