KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's basketball senior guard
Thomas Wilder was named to the All-High Major Fourth Team by College Sports Madness on Friday afternoon.
It's one of many postseason accolades for Wilder as the senior guard was named First Team All-Mid-American Conference last week while also being named MAC Player of the Year by
HoopsHD.com. Wilder became the first Bronco since Jim Havrilla in 1992-93 to earn back-to-back First Team All-MAC honors.
The Montgomery, Ill., native finished his career with 2,040 points, joining WMU's all-time leading scorer
David Kool as the only players in program history to reach 2,000 career points. Wilder led the Broncos and ranks second in the MAC in scoring with 18.8 points per game. Wilder also ranks fourth in the MAC in assists (4.3), fourth in free-throw percentage (.841) and third in steals (1.9).
Wilder's 603 points this season ranks as the eighth best in a single-season in school history while his 62 steals rank fourth. The Montgomery, Ill., native led the Broncos in scoring 22 times this season including a career-high 40-point performance against Toledo on Jan. 23. Wilder is one of just two players from the MAC to be named to the All-High Major Teams by CSM.
