Kaylen Glenfield has been named Female Scholar Athlete of the Week running through Feb. 26 – March 5.

The sophomore led the Broncos in their first five games of the USF Under Armour Tournament this past weekend in Clearwater, Fla. Glenfield made five starts with a team-high .385 batting average, going 5-for-13 from the plate with two doubles and three RBI. She connected on a season-high two hits against Wisconsin and the University of South Florida and continues to lead the team this season with a .367 batting average through 16 games.
As a pre-business major, Glenfield finished the fall semester with a term grade point average of 4.0 and holds an impressive 3.96 cumulative GPA. The MAC award is the first for Glenfield and the rest of the Broncos softball team so far this season.
Western Michigan returns to the diamond today in Clearwater, Fla. with a doubleheader against Penn and Niagara at 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
