Box Score EAST LANSING, Mich.- The Western Michigan (14-14) softball team fell on the road at Michigan State Wednesday, 6-1. The Broncos are back in action this weekend at Bowling Green, facing the Falcons in a three-game series.
Redshirt senior first baseman
Marlee Wilson scored WMU's lone run after hitting a lead off double in the top of the seventh. Senior
Aspen Williams followed Wilson with a single in the seventh. Williams had two of the Broncos' five hits in the game. Junior
Jenna Faultersack drove in Wilson with a fielder's choice.
Michigan State (13-15) redshirt senior Kristina Zalewski recorded 11 strikeouts in a complete-game effort to lead her team. The Spartans had six hits, including a two-run home run by Kelly Zackrison in the sixth.
Freshman
Reily Galloway started the game for the Broncos and took the loss, going one-third of an inning and was charged with two runs.
Jordan Kurth and
Sydney Stefanick also pitched in the game for WMU.
Western Michigan's series against Bowling Green begins with game one on Friday at 3 p.m. and concludes with a doubleheader Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.
