KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team takes a short break from Mid-American Conference action to host a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 27 inside West Hills. The Broncos begin the day, hosting Illinois-Chicago at 2:30 p.m. before welcoming Wayne State for a 7:00 p.m. nightcap. Admission to all home tennis matches is free.

Western Michigan is coming off a 6-1 win over Northern Illinois on Friday, March 23, improving to 14-4 overall, 3-0 in conference and an impressive 8-0 home record. In their last three matches, the Broncos have won by a combined 17-4 points and look to continue strong play against their opponents Tuesday.
The Flames carry a 3-8 record heading into Kalamazoo and recently fell at Detroit 7-0 in their first Horizon League match of the season. The Warriors, who are 8-8 overall, are 5-7 this season in unfamiliar territory but are coming off a 7-2 win at Purdue Northwest this past Sunday.
Junior Matej Svjetllicic leads the Broncos this season in total wins at 24-6 overall with an impressive 17-1 record in dual-match play and is riding an eight-match winning streak into tomorrow. No. 123-ranked
Maik Steiner has played all but one match at the one spot for WMU and holds a 10-5 record in the position. Steiner is also 23-9 and coming off a dominate 6-0, 6-2 victory over Buffalo's Kristopher Ortega, who also is the reigning MAC Player of the Week winner.

Nick Schnobel continue to lead the Brown & Gold with a 15-6 overall record and are 9-3 this spring. Partner's

Following Tuesday, Western Michigan prepares for its final home contest on Saturday, April 7 as the Broncos host conference foe Ball State at 2:00 p.m. Prior to the match, WMU will also recognize its two outstanding seniors in Steiner and
Billy Heckman.
