WMU Football to Hold Open Practice on Saturday, March 31

Spring FB Practice

Football | March 19, 2018

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan football program will conclude its 2018 spring season with a practice open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waldo Stadium on Saturday, March 31. The open practice and location is contingent on the weather.

In the event of poor weather on March 31, the practice will be moved indoors to the Seelye Center. Due to seating capacity limitations in the Seelye Center, access to an indoor practice will only be granted to student-athlete families and Gary Fund members at the Honorary Coaches Club level ($500) and above only. WMU Football will make the decision on location/access no later than Wednesday, March 28. Updates will be posted on wmubroncos.com and through the Bronco Football social media accounts.

"We are hopeful the weather cooperates and we are able to give our fans a sneak peek of the 2018 Broncos," said WMU head coach Tim Lester. "While the practice will not be a game per say, we will have some live, full contact team periods towards the end of practice."

The Broncos have also announced the date of the Fall Fan Fest, an event that went over with great reception in its inaugural year this past August. The second annual Fan Fest will be held on Saturday, August 11 at Waldo Stadium.

The free admission Fan Fest gives fans another opportunity at an early glimpse of the football team prior to the start of the season and provides activities for all ages, including sport skill challenges, face painting, photo booths, inflatables, facility tours and a poster giveaway/autograph session.

"We had a great turnout and really positive feedback in regards to our Fan Fest last year and we are excited to continue to build on that," Lester said. "In reality, August is the first chance to see our team at full roster, as our freshmen and newcomers will be on campus then. We can't wait to make it another great event this fall."

The Broncos officially open the 2018 season hosting Syracuse at Waldo Stadium on Friday, August 31.
