KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced on Tuesday that Western Michigan men's basketball senior guard
Thomas Wilder earned First Team All-District honors.
It's the second straight season Wilder has garnered NABC All-District honors, being named Second Team All-District a year ago. Â Teams were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in Division I.
Wilder led the Broncos and ranked second in the Mid-American Conference with 18.8 points per game. The Montgomery, Ill., native also became the second player in school history to score 2,000 career points. Wilder currently ranks 13
th among active players in the NCAA with 2,040 career points. Â
The senior guard ranks in the top ten in career points, field goals made, field goals attempted, three-pointers made, free-throws made, free-throws attempted, steals and assists. Wilder is the only player in school history to rank in the top ten in each category.
Wilder was a First Team All-MAC selection for the second straight season, becoming the first Bronco to do so since Walker D. Russell in 1981-82. Â Last week, Wilder was named to the All-High Major Fourth Team by
College Sports Madness and was named MAC Player of the Year by
HoopsHD.com.
