Broncos Prepare for Senior Night Tuesday vs. Eastern Michigan


KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the final home game of the regular season, Western Michigan men's basketball prepares for in-state rival Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 27 inside University Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.

Scouting the Broncos
With two regular season games left, Western Michigan is currently holding on to the No.4 seed if the MAC Tournament were to begin today with an overall record of 17-12 and 9-7 in Mid-American Conference play. WMU has won two straight contests and four of the last six.  

Inching Closer to 2,000
Senior guard Thomas Wilder need just 12 points to become the second player in school history to reach 2,000 career points. Wilder is 134 points behind WMU's all-time leading scorer David Kool.

MAC Tournament Seeding
Western Michigan currently sits as the No. 4 seed if the MAC Tournament were to begin today. If the Broncos win their final two games, WMU will automatically clinch a first-round bye in the tournament. WMU could climb to the No.3 seed if the Broncos win out followed by a Ball State loss in their final two contests.  
 
Michigan MAC Trophy on the Line
With a win, Western Michigan will claim its 8th Michigan MAC trophy title since the trophy became official in 2006. The trophy is given to the Michigan MAC school with the best head-to-head record.     

Senior Night Tribute
Prior to the game against the Eagles, Western Michigan men's basketball will honors its two seniors, Drake LaMont and Thomas Wilder. In their four years dawning the Brown & Gold, the duo has won 66 games and combine to score 2,870 points.  

Give Me Moore
Junior guard Bryce Moore has shot the ball well the past five games, averaging 12 points per game while shooting 52.5 percent from the field. Moore has registered three straight double digit performances for the Broncos including a 14-point performance on Friday against Ball State.   

Stealing the Show
Wilder's 59 steals ranks fifth most in a single-season in program history and needs just 24 more to break the single-season record set by Robby Collum back in 2002-03.

Reggie Jones Dominates the HOME State
Sophomore Reggie Jones had a stellar night back in his home state on Friday at Ball State. The Marion, Ind., native led the Broncos in points (20), rebounds (7) and assists (5). This season, Jones is averaging 9.9 points and 3.8 rebounds off the bench.   
Scouting Eastern Michigan
Eastern Michigan is slated as the No.5 seed if the MAC Tournament were to begin today with an overall record of 18-11 and 9-7 in MAC play. The Eagles have been one of the hottest teams in the conference over the past two weeks, winning four straight and six of the last seven. The Eagles are coming off an 82-53 victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday.

EMU holds its opponents to 67.4 points per game which ranks first in the MAC. The Eagle offense which ranks third in the conference is led by James Thompson IV who averages 15.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.
