KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team won its fifth straight at Kalamazoo College on Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep over the Hornets inside the Marken Center. With the win, the Broncos improve to 7-4 overall and now prepare for two matches in Florida over spring break.

The Brown & Gold swept all doubles matches to earn the doubles point and as a team are now 17-14 in dual-match season as a team. Freshman
Jeryn Jack and redshirt senior
Barbare Eristavi clinched the point with a 6-0 win at No. 3 as the pair played together for the first time this spring. Senior
Denise Azcui and sophomore
Gabriela Slavova improved to 2-0 together with a 6-1 win at No. 2.
In singles, the Broncos won all their matches in two sets as WMU took down the Hornets at four, one, three, two, five and six, all in that order. Eristavi improved her record at No. 1 to 2-2 in dual match play after defeating Franco 6-2,6-1. Freshman
Valentina Sanchez Briend picked up her second win as a Bronco with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6. Other singles wins came from
Katja Fevralev, Jack, Slavova, and
Valeria Riegraf.
The Broncos set eyes on next weekend over spring break, travelling to the University of South Florida on March 4 and Florida Gulf Coast on March 5.
