KALAMAZOO, Mich. –  The Western Michigan gymnastics team remains on the road, traveling to Piscataway, N.J. on Saturday, Feb. 24 for its lone quad meet of the season. The Broncos will face host Rutgers, Towson and Ursinus College with the meet set to begin at 7 p.m. inside the Rutgers Athletic Center.

LAST TIME OUT
With its first of three meets on the road, WMU fell at Ohio State on Saturday, Feb. 17 and are now 3-3 overall this season. Western Michigan took the beam event, claiming the top three spots highlighted by senior
Kira Hoy who recorded a career-best 9.875 on the event. Freshman
Morgan Spence claimed her fourth all-around title, scoring a 38.150.
TEAM SCORES THIS SEASON
The best total so far for the Brown & Gold occurred back on Jan. 28 against Bowling Green with a 195.675, the fifth-highest total in program history. The Broncos also posted the seventh-highest program score on the floor exercise of 49.175 and tenth-highest program score on the uneven bars (48.950) against the Falcons. The highest vault and bars scores of the season came at Central Michigan on Jan. 20 with 48.950 each, as both totals are good for the tenth-highest in Bronco history.

WHERE WE STANDÂ
Western Michigan remains at 44th in the 2018 NCAA Rankings after the Ohio State meet, averaging 194.304 through six meets this season. The Broncos are sixth in the MAC behind Central Michigan (24), Kent State (30), Bowling Green (38), Ball State (40) and Northern Illinois (42) while Eastern Michigan (45) rounds out the conference. As a team, the Broncos rank 41st on vault (48.624), 42nd on the floor (48.804), 44th on the balance beam (48.421) and 50th on the bars (48.438).

Freshman Spence has won the all-around title in four of her last five meets and is 96 nationally. Sophomore
Amelia Mohler averages a 9.800 on the bars, good for seventh in the MAC.

MAC WEEKLY HONORS
Senior Hoy was recently tabbed Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week on Tuesday with her performance at Ohio State. Hoy scored a career-best on the beam and owned her first event of the season.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Towson holds the highest rankings amongst the Broncos' three opponents with a 47 ranking while Rutgers sits 49th nationally and Ursinus College rounds up the competition in 73.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following Saturday the Broncos return to MAC competition and its final road competition of their three-meet road stint, heading to Northern Illinois on Sunday, March 4. The dual meet is set for 3 p.m. in DeKalb, Ill.
